Omg! This film has so many good messages like that within it, but I can’t help but want Dev to shove off n let his sis Zeenat become a hippy devil!
lol yeah it all kind of felt like a big mess, like Dev Anand was just (rightfully) pissed off at hippies and made a film about it but it kind of backfired because Zeenat was too cool to pity
omg, men w/ long faces, or like crooked noses, or like not gross facial hair just (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
#also extra points if you look like a scared woodland creature a lot of the time

five films to describe your taste
this was asked on a forum i post at and here’s what i came up with.
la vie nouvelle, for its haptic abstraction, nightmarish vision, and sensory assault
glue, for its hazy remembrances, summer grime, and wayward youth
the young girls of rochefort, for its precise staging, joy in music, and impossibly gorgeous colors/actors/setting
toutes les nuits, for its philosophical inquiries, essentialism in physical motion, and awareness of time’s passing
margaret, for its narrative asides, perpetual messiness, and constantly vacillating emotions
mine would be:
- zazie dans le metro for the humour
- les parapluies de cherbourg for the mise-en-scene
- awara for the cinematography and music
- stalker as the opposite of zazie
- the hole as a combination of all of the above
